When Abraham Chalker was born on May 1, 1699, in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, his father, Abraham Chalker, Sr., was 43 and his mother, Hannah, was 42. He married Jemima Grinnell on March 4, 1724, in his hometown. Jemima is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Alden Pabodie, thought to be the first European child born in the Plymouth Colony. Elizabeth's parents, John Alden and Priscilla Mullins came over on the Mayflower. Abraham and Jemima had ten children during their marriage. He died on September 20, 1783, in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, having lived a long life of 84 years, and was buried there.
Note: Jemima, Sarah, and Lydia are not mentioned in this will because they died before it was written.
